Johnson, a native of El Cajon, Calif., made his first three Winston Cup starts in 2001, the season in which he scored a his first career NASCAR Busch Series victory at the inaugural Hills Brothers Coffee 300 at Chicagoland Speedway in only his fourth season in stock cars. He primarily concentrated on maintaining his top-10 standing in the Busch Series point standings. In his second full year of competition in the Busch Series, a year in which he finished 8th overall in the final points standings, Johnson had one win, four top-five finishes and eight top-10 finishes.

About the Author
Ron Lemasters Jr., an Indiana native, has been writing about NASCAR and other forms of motorsports since 1988, when he joined the staff of National Speed Sport News. Since then, the Ball State University graduate has been part of the NASCAR landscape as a writer, editor, and public relations specialist. His work has appeared in Stock Car Racing and Circle Track magazines, several International Speedway Corporation programs, and a variety of other motorsports publications. He and his wife, Chris, live in Concord, North Carolina, with their daughters Jordan and Devon.
